Ecuadorian at El Conquistador, Peekskill

I'd been meaning to push into El Conquistador in peeksill for a while as it;s often packed, especially on the weekends. Stopped by for lunch, I figured 1/4 chicken with soup and salad ($8) was a good bet as it was on a lot of tables.

The chicken soup was a meal itself, a big bowl of broth with noodles, chopped hard boil eggs, finely chopped herbs and tender chicken. Floating on top of the broth were about 10 french fries! The soup was served with lemons and popcorn. I looked around and some of my fellow diners were throwing the popcorn into the soup so I gave it a try. it was all delicious...honestly, it's worth coming here just to try this unique soup.

The 1/4 chicken looked much closer to a 1/2 and it was served with generous sides of rice, beans and fresh salad with black eyed peas. The chicken tasted like it'd come off a rotisserie, a little salty but perfect with the thick, green hot sauce on the table. I didn't come close to finishing but it was very good.
