I have friends visiting from Florida, and one of them claims that there are no good eclairs in the whole of his home state. That said, he is seeking the perfect eclair out here, since he's been otherwise impressed with the bay area's food selections. I'm not big on pastries myself, and I don't like eclairs, so I haven't done much sampling. Any ideas? He's looking for a good flaky pastry, smooth custard filling (or other filling so long as it's smooth and not lumpy or pasty like a lot of them), and real chocolate on top rather than chocolate-flavored powdered sugar frosting.
