Echigo -- still great, doing more business

Had lunch today at Echigo. Happy to report I was not dining alone!

There were two couples having omakase at the sushi bar and eight others at tables. Perhaps unfortunately, I could not help but overhear one of the couples asking for things that this place just doesn't serve. Hope they liked what they did get.

For my part, everything was perfect. Beyond the special lunch (which, at ten dollars, is impossible to resist), I had the live scallop and monk fish sushi as single piece additions.

The live scallop was impeccable. And, the monk fish liver sushi has become one of the top ten best single things I have ever put in my mouth. I'm slightly embarassed about the fact that I close my eyes when I taste it.

Hounds, get thee there.
