Eating uncooked meringues.. from freezer

While making meringue cookies, I've realized I enjoy eating a scoop or two of the unbaked batter. I cannot have dairy much--so it tastes like ice cream or frozen yogurt if I put it in the freezer for a few minutes.

I know there is an alleged danger to eating uncooked eggs.. but is there any other danger? Also does anyone know if it is true that our body cannot absorb/get protein from uncooked eggs?
