went last night, first time i've made eat the street in a LONG time. Lots of food, lots of vendors, LOTS of people. some places were out of food by 6pm, most were out of the popular items by 7, and 2/3 had closed by 8. not as many 'bacon' themed items as i might have expected. most people seemed to be really enjoying themselves and enjoying the food. Lots of families with small kids. Very lively.
ono pops had a pb&b (peanut butter and bacon) that wasn't bad, but not outstanding. Wanted to try the bacon risotto at Koi, but the line was horrendous and after standing there starving for 20 minutes and only moving about 3 feet (with 20 to go) gave up and went to 5-0 ribs. Good, not great. The bonjour bacon crepe a couple of stalls down was pretty good. too much (costco) cheese, the bacon was turkey bacon, and was kinda skimpy, but the crepe was nice and tender. The kettle corn was really good, it is always better when fresh.
the biggest drawback was parking. people were walking for blocks and blocks. fortunately a friend works in a building only 3 blocks away so we were able to park there.
maybe not something to do every month, but now and then.
