I recently ordered some meats from an online purveyor. I've ordered before with no problem. This time, the USPS SAID they tried to deliver on Sat evening and couldn't get to my door (poppycock)....and no number to call, no way to pick up because of the holiday. The package came today and as feared the freezer packs had melted and everything was at room temp. I put them in the freezer right away (yes, I know this only slows bacterial growth).
All are air tight packaging and there were no punctures or holes. All but some pate are pre-cooked (smoked or some other method). My question is if I thaw a package, cook it to at least 135 degrees F, is it ok to eat, or am I S.O.L. and need to reorder?
