The room reminds me of an upscale, more grand version of Balthazar in NYC. Gorgeous space. Like others have said, a great looking - and (miracle of miracles!) affordable - menu. Something for everyone: fish, steak, sandwiches/burger, salads. How fantastic to have a roasted marrow app for 6 bucks! Oysters are $2 each. Sides are healthy portions for $5-$6 - mac n cheese (looked great), potatoes (gratin, twice baked, frites), some greens. Many entrees in the $18-$23 range.

I had a good frisee salad with lardon, sweetbreads and hazelnuts with a poached egg. The sweetbreads were small bits (odd?) fried and tasting a bit of the bacon, the egg was a bit overdone for me as I prefer the yolk a bit more runny. Frisee was well dressed and all the flavors were great. Side of fries was addictive: thin, crispy, well salted and HOT with a side of aioli. Food came out of the kitchen fast (it's a big operation). Salad, fries and a big cocktail was $24 pre-tip.

It's really weird that Kenmore Square now seems to be an extension of Newbury Street - the scene was a bit silly for the location, especially against a backdrop of Red Sox Nation "local color." But c'mon...I can order a cold PBR or a foie gras app in the same restaurant? I could really love this place!
