Eastern Noodle and Best Fuzhou

Hi, everyone. This covers only the Manhattan parts of the Chowdown with Nancy from London and a group of other people. The fuller report, including Outer Borough coverage is here:

First of all, I really enjoyed meeting everyone. But on to the chow.

Eastern Noodle's Beef Hand-Pulled Noodle Soup is very hamish and soothing, with a delicious overtone of star anise, and I liked the taste of the beef and the texture of the noodles. I will be back.

Best Fuzhou has worthwhile dishes. I especially like the Crab Casserole. The crabs were sweet and deliciously cooked. As Justin mentioned in the linked thread, smoking is very common at Best Fuzhou. When we were there, an ENTIRE LARGE TABLE of men decided to smoke at the same time. So if you are at all bothered by cigarette smoke, do not go to Best Fuzhou. And the smoking is the reason I won't be back, but it was interesting and our server was very nice.
