Looking for a new (to me) East Village place with a "lively" vibe

Peter Cherches | Jun 5, 2006 12:12 PM

I'm taking a friend out for her birthday, and she prefers lively places to sedate ones. I want to try some place new (though it doesn't have to be a new restaurant), so the places I'll list below are out. Mexican or Southwestern is out because I'm just back from 4 days in Santa Fe. Otherwise, cuisine is pretty open. What I would like is a place with great food where a dinner with wind won't cost more than about $50 a head. L.E.S. is ok too for location. Oh, and I don't think she really likes Japanese.

Danke Schoen

Restaurants I like that I don't want to go to:

Le Tableau, Lavagna, Assenzio, Euzkadi, Esperanto, Mogador, Paladar, Le Pere Pinard.

Restaurants I don't like:

La Palapa, Frank's, Boca Chica
