There looks to be some hidden treasures along Broadway between McGrath O'Brien and 93 or whatever is on the east border. I've already extolled the virtues of Louie's ice cream stand where I got a kiddie cone (not listed on the menu) for $1.75 of grapenut which was way more than what I think of as kiddie size. Across the street is Patsy's Bakery where I got a mini sfogliatelle (I think that's close) which was very good. Crispy layers filled with custard for $.90. Walked down the street and saw a couple Brazilian places, a couple Mexican and the infamous Vinnie's. Will try them soon.
On a Boston proper note, took advantage of the 57 free appetizer with drinks special last week. The margarita was quite large, beer came in a frosted glass and the crab cakes were very tasty. Decided to pay for another app. and got the tuna tartare ($9) which the bartender raved about. It was fine but didn't quite deserve her gushing. Also had a nice bread basket passed around so it was enough food. The bartender spaced on giving one app. for free and had some lame excuse, but it was a good deal and the entrees look pretty good too. The dining room was dead on a Wed. nite tho.
