Several weeks ago we received a mailbox flyer for Shahi Restaurant in Mississauga, advertising their Pizza specials. This is actually a Halal Indian restaurant in the area, so it was rather intriguing.
Last night we gave it a shot, and ordered the Tandoori chicken "special." What we got was a large pizza, liberally covered in red onions, tomatoes, half cloves of garlic, tandoori chicken (white meat), some Italian seasoning, and a proper (meaning not too much) amount of cheese, on a very well made crust. But that's not all... also included in the special was an order of 20 very fine tandoori cooked chicken wings, 6 cans of Coke, and four large pieces of garlic bread (which we didn't attempt, but they looked very tasty). The price, before tax and delivery, was an astounding $22.99.
We were so impressed I telephoned the restaurant to say how much we liked it, and it sounded like the guy on the other end of the phone could have cried with happiness at the good review.
If you get a craving for a pizza that's a little outside of the ordinary, give them a call. They're on Eglinton, just west of Dixie Road.
