East coast 'hound looking for good seafood and local specialties in San Jose Del Cabos

curioussheridan | Jan 4, 201907:45 PM     2

We'll be spending a couple of weeks in San Jose Del Cabos in February: one week downtown and one week by the beach. Where are the memorable meals, whether in dingy cafes or smart restaurants, but with real flavors? And are there southern Baja specialties you won't find in other parts of Mexico? We won't have a car, so are not looking to Cabo San Lucas, but we will have a kitchen, so recommendations for food stores are welcome too. Is the Saturday farmers market worth going to?
An older post said you had to make reservations in advance-- is this still true?

Many thanks, and I'll post any worthwhile updates on my return
