East Buffet & Restaurant - Chinese - Flushing

I recently ate at this restaurant. I had never heard of it before but I was surprised later to see the positive reviews on this board. But restaurants can go down hill. Didn't realize it was a buffet place. By the decor I thought I was going to have a great dining experience. Marble stairs, fancy chandelers, etc. Felt like the upscale Vegas casino buffets. I was definitely mistaken. The food selection was a little better than average, not that I'm a buffet expert. But this place gets a big F in quality. Pretty much all the hot food except for dumplings were bordeline cold, definitely not hot. This makes it hard to judge the taste. Just talking about cold chinese food makes me sick. I tried several dishes but most were either cold or just not that good. Annoyed by my meal I really wanted to get out of this place. Oh yeah this place is far from cheap given the quality, and it is in Queens. $22 bucks a head plus a mandatory service charge not including tip. I personally hate complaining to a manager but the service charge after a bad and unhealthy meal, annoyed me. The manager was rude and didn't really care if I walked out a slightly happer customer. I think he forgets he's in the hospitality business.
