Looking for a cake for my mother's birthday tomorrow. Her favorites are no longer available. They were:
1)The carrot cake from Grace Baking at the Market Hall. Mom likes a moist, dense cake with nuts, but not too much spice. Cream cheese frosting is a must.
2)Reine de Saba (or similar) cake from Cocolat. We're talking a dense flourless (or nearly flourless) cake that is moist and intensely chocolate-y. She's also a fan of the David Glass Chocolate Truffle cake. And no, though I'm a fan, the Pave Vergiate at Crixa is just too light for mom.
Suggestions for a fair copy of either of the above gratefully accepted.
