Earth Rosedale = Mediocre

Just had dinner at Earth (Global Earth??) in Rosedale. A friend of my OH recommended....Waste of time and money. What is it with North American portions? Do they think that if they give us a load of food we will think "well I am paying $22 for bland food, but at least I can bring some home and eat it tomorrow!"??????

I had the elk ragout. I know my game and I love it. This had not a hint of it being elk. It was boring and there was so much! I had three bites. It needed salt (as did the butter with the pre-dinner scone) and it needed ELK! I did eat the whole bowl of brussel sprouts and we shared the fries. Those were pretty okay. My OH had the jerk chicken. Bland. No kick to it. The menu said rice and peas came with it. It was rice and kidney beans (at least say what you are going to serve!). The apple slaw was nice though. We had a lovely bottle of wine. Service was adequate but not anything to be charmed by. We were honest though and they comped my food...I wish we could have had the whole night back though! Live and learn.
