Cathy and i were trying to put together an early morning jaunt for a Chicago Breakfast (Jims, Korean 24 hour, Baba Palace Indian/Pakistani taxi joint. Didn't know for sure, so ended up going out and being at 2 places.
I went to baba palace (chicago/orleans) by myself. They were very friendly. Also liked the ambience: neat, long wooden bar turned into the serving area, pool table room, another side room. Even requested a visit to the kitchen, after some anxiety on the owner's side that i might be from the city health department.
the food was great. Their regular days menus don't start until 8, but i got a large dish of scrabled eggs with peppers in them, and a beautiful disc of bread that I dipped in a rich chopped braised and spicy meat sauce.
i will come back when the other items are available
