I paid $25 for a good pour of '91 d'Yquem at Divine bar East last night. Based on the luck of the draw, my pour was from a bottle which was opened in front of me. I was one happy person.
The '91 is slightly less sweet than most d'Yquems I have sampled, although it is also on the less aged side of the d'Yquems sampled. It's got the relatively common initial mouth feel of d'Yquem, but a slightly weaker nose than I would have anticipated. Apricot is expressed, and there is slightly more bitterness (like the stone inside the apricot) towards the finish. The consistency was slightly less than what I would have imagined. Still, a good price for this sampling. The pour was likely at least 5-6 oz.
