we ate at a great little trattoria called zucchero on heinrichstrasse 155 in the zoo district. we stayed at a wonderful b&b called haus-am-zoo for <90 and walking distance from zucchero. we had the veal scallopini with a tasty gorgonzola cream sauce and also one with a pfifferling (mushroom) sauce. a bottle of montepulciano red wine and quick, friendly service.
on the other hand, don't go to baccala, another trattoria on heinrichstrasse - awful service (the waitress was gnawing on bread all night), 1 hour wait between the appetizer plate and pasta, 14 for spaghetti out of a box...not even a thanks or goodbye when we paid
