I am a dumplinghound, but don't make it to Chinatown as often as I would like. I've paticularly enjoyed the "boiled shrimp dumplings" at Yin Cheng(Amsterdam and 67th street). They have delicate homemade skins and the shrimp filling is simply cut up pieces of shrimp with ginger, not the overly processed filling stuffed in balls of glutinous dough that you find at most chinese places on the Upper West Side. Sometimes I get the vegetable dumplings from Ollies which are ok.
I walked by Pearl's on Amsterdam in the 100's and noticed they had quite a few varieties of dumplings that sounded good. Has anybody tried dumplings at Pearl's? Any other dumpling reccomendations would be appreciated.
