dumpling house (on eldridge off broome)...

many thanks to one of my favorite posters here on ch, elvislives, for insisting on this place...i went this past saturday to finally try it out...

i was going to order the pork and chives fried dumplings (5 for $1) and the scallion pancake with beef ($1.50) but they were out of the pancakes...i found that strange since it was only around 6pm...but, no matter -- i just doubled up on the dumplings, as they looked awfully good...

looks were not deceiving...those dumplings were excellent...the dumpling and hot sauces are perfect condiments, too (just make sure they give you enough if your order is to-go)...

this is the kind of place i live for as a hound...so much so that i couldn't resist a return visit, the very next day, braving sunday city traffic and all...this time, the pancakes were available...to say that the sandwich was worth the buck fifty i paid for it would certainly be an understatement...

anyway...thanks again for the tip, elvislives...it certainly was a good one...

dominck...

ps...there is a similiar place called "fried dumpling" nearby at 99 allen street...i wonder if it's as good
