Dumb (but simple) question about sharpening a Japanese knife

I'm thinking to buy a cute little Masahiro MV-H paring knife, but it seems it has an 80/20 (R/L) edge on it. I assume that the angle is the same on both sides, probably 16 degrees. Would I just sharpen this knife like a regular 50/50 knife, but just do 4 times more strokes (on a stone, steel, or strop) on the right side than the left? TIA for your help.
