Something that I've noticed about Asian inspired recipes: there are lots of dumbed-down recipes, some that do not even resemble the dish that they are trying to emulate. Take this recipe for "Salt and Pepper Shrimp." It doesn't contain pepper. It doesn't contain salt (unless you count the soy sauce). It doesn't resemble the traditional preparation at all. Or even a facsimile. It assumes that you have a "bag of rice" to microwave for 3 minutes (does that even exist?). It assumes the shrimp are frozen. It lists sesame seeds as "optional" for some reason. It is quick, and I guess healthy.....I've been seeing this alot lately.
