A while back, one of my favorite Northern Indian Cuisine restaurant in town, " Chauhan's ", relocated to 14th Avenue after spending two or more decades at its Markham, Denison address.
In its place, another Indian restaurant with a name that might warrant a 'coarse language warning sign' took over the location. After some major renovation, the front-of-house of this new restaurant exude refinement and class. Today, I decided to try out some 'Northern' Indian food at this place to celebrate the victory by the team from 'Land of the North'!
Both Saag Lamb and Rogan Josh ordered were beautifully seasoned and spiced.....well rounded taste profile with just the right amount of heat. Sweet, savory and heat components were nicely balanced. The Saag dish could well be the best tasting rendition I had in the GTA?! From the sophistication of the flavor, one could taste that the dishes were specially prepared and are NOT the result of modification of some generic, mother sauce!
Compare to the norm and in particular, its nearby competitor, 'Chauhan's', price point was a touch on the high side but IMO, worth it.
So glad I was able to locate another good, worthy place to satisfy my occasional Indian food fix!
