Duke of Kent

Lamaranthe | Mar 19, 2006 02:43 PM

Duke of Kent - Corner of Yonge and Roehampton, one block North of Eglinton. On Saturday, for Paddy's sake I gave them a second try, hoping that it would be better than the first one. First, the background music was everything but Irish, but I thought it was a slight oversight... I ordered a Guiness and one of their recommended specialties : the Boiled Corned Beef with Cabbage. For sure, that thin slice of cabbage would have needed an extra 15 minutes cooking or stewing. The 'Boiled corned beef' was tough, real tough. May be that's why it came with a huge serrated knife on the side? But that did not help. The Hot mustard was O.K., though. I asked for butter and I got it, but bread to go with it would have been extra. After tax and tip, the bill came to $25.00 -- Good bye, Duke!
