Dublin and Ireland (South) for a Generous Friend

AZ | Jan 27, 200205:25 PM     6

A very good friend will be travelling to Dublin and the South of Ireland this Summer. Since he treated me not too long ago to the tasting menu at Spago in Beverly Hills (which I in turn recommended to Estufarian, an esteemed fellow Chowhound from Toronto, whose remarkable report you can find in the current round of Topics of Special Interest) I am indebted to him.
On behalf of my generous friend, does anyone have reasonably current recommendations (with no high or low end on expense) for this part of the world? I have tried to find all of the prior posts for the last year, the most extensive of which I have noted below.
(And yes, the world does get just a little tinier each year.)
With thanks,
AZ
