While there's nothing like a freshly-baked pie in season, I'm open to the idea of frozen. I was perusing the small freezer section of my local market (Shopper's Corner in Santa Cruz), and I noticed a selection of pies made from Duarte's Tavern in Pescadero (see link and photo from website).
I've read so much about their olallieberry pie that I was so tempted to buy it. Other fruits were apple or strawberry rhubarb. The box was quite heavy and was very reasonably priced at $14. Has anyone tried their frozen pies before? Comments? Does it taste similar to what's served at the restaurant? Thanks for any info.
