Drying (or freezing) Jalapeño Peppers--any tips?

nofunlatte | Sep 17, 2009 03:37 PM

I've got some jalapeño peppers that I would like to dry (won't have much opportunity to cook them fresh in the next couple of weeks). I've read that I can simply thread them together and hang them up to dry, which is what I do with my cayennes. Has anyone done this before? If so, how did it turn out?

Also, any tips for freezing these babies? Do I need to seed and devein them or can I freeze them whole? What is the texture like after thawing?

Many thanks in advance!
