dry salads?

Michelle | Jul 27, 2003 06:54 PM

Is it just me, or are restaurants serving salads that are basically just dry greens? It seems like more and more often, if I order some type of mixed green salad to accompany a meal, I receive a plate of the standard mixed baby greens (which is fine), but the greens are bone dry! I would rather have my salad underdressed than overdressed (puddles of dressing on an empty salad plate is kind of gross), but dry greens? Is this a new trend in dining? I have asked servers if the salad has been dressed, or if it was by chance forgotten (always in a nice tone of voice, I used to work in a restaurant), and I have been assured that yes, they do use dressing on their salads. Any opinions on this? Is this something that others have experienced?
