Best Dry Red Wine for Ranch Style Chorizo and Eggs

Making the recipe from Bobby Flay's Mesa book and the sauce calls for a dry red wine

I am always at a loss for what to use with certain recipes which will enhance it

there will be spanish chorizo - ancho and pasilla chile powders in the sauce

any recommendations would be great (also if it could be picked up at safe way or whole foods even better - something in the $10-15 price range)
