What am I drinking? Eight immortals tea?

Stanley Stephan | Apr 14, 200305:11 PM

I'm over at Celadon and this woman is drinking this beautiful looking pot of tea. It has whole white batchelor button type flowers, slivered nuts, green leaves and red stuff that looks like diced pepper and a big brown nut.

I bought a package at 85 cents and thought I'd look over the ingrediants. Well, it's TOTALLY Chinese. A search for eight immortals tea turned up nothing. The tea also has big rock-candy pebbly like pieces of sugar.

I'm telling you, I can't identify one ingrediant here other than the sugar. The red things taste like peppers, but that can't be, can it?

It's in a primarily green bag with red trim and a picture of six of the ingrediants. It's a clear yellowish liquid and it really just tastes mainly of the sugar. However it is beautiful to look at, like a garden in my clear glass tea pot. It's been entertaining to look at (obviously I'm easily amused).

Celadon is closed Monday and Tuesday or I would ask them. Anyone have a clue what this is?
