Would You Drink Wine or Beer if it Wasn't an Intoxicant?

zackly | Feb 21, 201710:15 AM     33

Reading a post just now about non-alchoholic beer got me thinking about how many people would drink wine, beer, cocktails if they didn't get you high? I know for sure I wouldn't. I'd rather have a Coke than even a great vintage Chateau Petrus.
When I first started drinking as a teenager, I drank cocktails with fruity mixers to tolerate the taste of the alcohol. It took me a fairly long time to "enjoy" beer as well a wine. It's like that medical marajuana that doesn't get you high. I don't think most "patients" wiould be beating a path to the dispensaries if that's all they offered. Would you still drink alcoholic beverages if they didn't give you a buzz?

Edit: I should have thought to add this.
I'm talking about non-alcoholic beer wine & spirits that taste exactly like those with alcohol. I know they don't exist but this makes the question more interesting.
