My SO has a noticeable reaction to dried apricots. Not fresh ones, and not other dried fruit (which makes me think it's not the sulfur dioxide). He just had some the other day and right away his face felt hot, and he felt a tightening in his chest.

Is there anything that could be causing this besides an allergy? Why dried apricots and not other dried fruit??? Anybody ever heard of anything like this? Seems so weird.

(Of course, he will ask his doctor about it next time he's in (and in the meantime avoid dried apricots), but I'm just curious if others have had this experience at all.)
