I went to Gnoccho Cafe, on E. 10th Street near Avenue B, over the weekend.
It was GREAT. The restaurant is named after a special appetizer, which is sort of a fried dough with proscuitto and other cured meats..which was good.
The salad with a warm cheese and honey (not as sweet as this sounds) was spectacular.
When they tell you the specials, they bring out a plate of all of their homemade fresh pastas of the day so you can see the different shapes. The pasta dishes were NOT of the run-of-the-mill variety. There was one (can't remember the shape) with a sauce of pink beans and an unusual cheese that was quite good.
But the real star here was the amazing gnocchi, with a sauce made of pumpkin and cherry tomatoes. So tender and yummy, definitely the best gnocchi I've had in a long time.
