This is my first post on Chowhound but I admit I've been a looong time lurker. My name is John, I'm 27 from Baltimore, MD. In 6 weeks I'm leaving on a 2+ year, 7 continent RWT and I'm trying to decide where to eat my bucket list meal. I've put aside a decent budget to eat at a Michelin 3 Star restaurant at some point along my trip. The problem is I planned on eating at El Bulli, but sadly Chef Ferran closed it's doors earlier this year. Now I'm leaning towards either Arzak, or The Fat Duck, UK. If you could eat at any restaurant in world, which would it be and why?
I won't be in Europe until next summer so I have some time to make a reservation. I'm really looking forward to Spain as a culinary destination, especially the Jamon Serrano and Asador Etxebarri http://www.asadoretxebarri.com/op2.asp?2. So far I've only made reservations at Jok's Kitchen in Bangkok, rumored to be the best Chinese Restaurant in the world. There are dozens of places that I have written down and plan on eating. Mostly from various forums, Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern... I've eaten at a few of the more mainstream Michelin restaurants here in the US but am yet to be blown away, I. E., Nobu, Daniel, La Bernardin,. Truthfully, I've had better meals from plywood cook shops though you pay for the pretension and ambiance. However, David Burke's Primehouse in Chicago was better than sex.
Some of my favorites:
Buddy's Cookshop/ Little London, Jamaica
Richard's Bake N Shark/ Trinidad
Boss Hog's BBQ Pit/ Gordo, Alabama
Fest Eddie's Pit Beef/ Baltimore, Maryland
Hot Dougs/ Chicago, Illinois
Philippe's/ Los Angeles, California
Mur Mu Dong/ Phuket, Thailand
Bac Hai/ HCMC, Vietnam

Anyone else want to share some favorites and must eats from around the world?
Thanks for any inspiration,
