Dragon's City dinner.

Yimster | Sep 20, 2002 12:53 AM

Tonight as we made our last Moon Cake pickup for the year of the Horse. We went to dinner at a new Low End Cantonese place like Jumbo.

Dragon's City Seafood Restaurant
1033 Taraval Street
San Francisco, CA 94116
415 681 3838

We had the $18.00 set family dinner
Dragon Daily Special Soup: Which Derek said was like his grandmother's chicken feet and all. "This chef must have worked for a Jewish family in New York". A Chicken soup with carrots, full body but still thin.

Shrimp & Vermicelli in Clay Pot. Shrimp with heads cook in a cook pot with Napa Cabbage and vermicelli. Cook so that the pasta picked up the favor of the shrimp.

Fried Crispy Shin Chicken. LET (Let End Thoery who else to take to a Low End place) said cooked just right not dry at all. This was a whole Cornish Rock Hen.

Deep Fried Flounder. Well done not over cooked. We eat every part of it. The fins could have been cooked a little more.

Lettuce with Oyster Sauce. Cooked prefectly with just a little oyster sauce. The only way was to eat cooked lettuce.

The was the set $18.00 dinner.

Mrs Yimster then wanted the $18.00 dinner so she could order two of her favorite dishes.

Taro Duck. Prefectly done. Derek said better than Jumbo. Now I know what Yimster said about tasting chunks of taro in the taro dumplings in dim sum. They used fresh taro with having to much strach.

Porkcake with salted fish. LET said this remind me of home Mom made salted fish at home. I said I only eat this dish out because if we did this at home all the cats would be at our house. The porkcake still had a little juice as we finish. Not dry at all.

We had a sweet red bean soup.

The total check was $7.50 each for five people.

LET informed us that he would be leaving us to finish his schooling at UCLA at the end of the year. Derek said we should have another dinner to sent LET off in our Chowhound manner. Derek I pick the pick and Yimster can order. I hope someone takes me off the hook.
