Dr. Bob Now Practicing at Gelson's CC

PayOrPlay | May 19, 200410:56 AM

The big news in my neighborhood today: the Pride of Pomona and Upland, Dr. Bob's Handcrafted Ice Cream, previously available on the Westside only erratically and at a few limited outlets (Vicente, Surfas, Wine House, Bel Air), is now on the shelves at Gelson's in Century City.

In about a half-dozen flavors, including the three varieties that I have found most distinctive: Scharffen Berger Works, Really Dark Chocolate, and the luscious Strawberries, Sour Cream & Brown Sugar. About $5/pint.

And they are having a sale on Haagen-Dazs at the same time (2 for $5) so you can conduct scientific taste comparisons.
