Downtown Dinner Advice

A friend is in New Orleans on business and is taking me out to dinner tonight. He asked me to pick a restaurant and I'd appreciate some help.

He said he'd like a steakhouse or something "very New Orleans." He's staying at the Ritz, so I think downtown is best. He also said he doesn't have a suit or jacket, so nowhere too fancy. I also don't want something too touristy, although I know that might be tough in the Quarter.

I figure Galatoire's is out because of the dress code.
Then I thought of Bayona, but maybe the food isn't quite "New Orleans" enough, that is, it's not the traditional NO experience he might be looking for.
What about Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse? Too touristy?

I thank you in advance for your ideas.
