Downhill Alert: Il Pastaio

One of my favorite Italian joints in the city seems to be fading fast. I've been going to Il Pastaio on a regular basis since it opened, but I've noticed in the past year or so that the food has gotten inconsistent and often medicre. It's not terrible, but I can make better food at home.

Was there the other night and all the pastas were overcooked and oversauced. The salads were similarly overdressed.

On top of this, prices have been gone up about 40%.

On the plus side, we now can buy the tomato sauce in a jar :^)

I think Angelini Osteria will be getting more of my business in the future.
