Went to Douzo last week to check it out... what a great space! Looks clean, modern, but still comfortable. Went mid-afternoon and chose a bar table over a table in the restaurant- still sparsely full with lunching professionals.
We ate lightly- starting off with green tea, edamame and miso, then turning to sweet potato tempura (a la carte, $2 I believe for two petite pieces) sweet potato maki, and shrimp tempura maki. Finished with red bean ice cream. Everything was tasty and aesthetically pleasing, clearly made with high quality ingredients and with care. We also watched the parade of food passing us to a nearby table, and all dishes looked put together and mouthwatering... the staff seemed efficient and knowledgable. All of this esp. pleasing because we were there during "off" hours.
I'll be back next time with a bigger appetite- I think it's a great addition to the neighborhood- really reasonable prices, great food and a nice bar. Try the red bean ice cream!
