They weren't doughnuts in my book, technically, because there was no hole, but they sure were delectable. Perfectly crisp on the outside, and almost custardy on the inside--not something I usually expect, but it was a very enjoyable experience. They were sweet but not cloyingly so. I was kind of put off by the fact that they came with coconut sauce (just seemed kind of obvious and possibly gloppily oversweet)), and enjoyed them enough without any sauce that I thought I wouldn't even use it, but then I decided to give it a try, and that added whole new dimensions of pleasurable flavor and texture contrast. Haven't tried anything else here, and have seen some negative reviews elsewhere, but I'd have those doughnuts again definitely and would be interested to check out the other offerings. A prior post here indicates that their chef left sometime maybe in January, so maybe there's somebody new now.
