Dough Hooks - Kitchen Aid, Cuisinart, Viking....Ninja

gothamette | Jan 9, 2012 01:14 PM

I need a food processor with a dough hook. My favorite thing is to bake bread. I discovered the Richard Bertinet 'slap and fold' method of kneading, but I like to start the kneading process with a machine.

I could also use the food processor for other things. I don't need a stand mixer. A good hand mixer will do. So I'm looking at food processors with dough hooks.

In reading ALL the old posts, I see that everyone has issues with the new Kitchen Aids and Cuisinarts. Ditto for Viking. Magimix is just too expensive for me.

I discovered this thing called Ninja while googling around. Walmart (sorry) has a good deal on the 1100 which has a dough hook.

Anyone have experience with this? I don't expect that it's as good as the Kitchen Aid you got for your wedding 35 years ago. Those days are long gone. But if it works for a couple of years, and chops as well, I'll be happy.

(Please - no lectures about kneading dough totally by hand. Thanks in advance.)
