When someone in the entertainment industry offers a recommendation for a new restaurant the assumprion is that the endorser has a financial interest in the place and is trying to promote/protect that interest.
Let me offer an immediate disclaimer. My admiration for Doug Arango's, a new restaurant in West Hollywood, has absolutely no purse strings attached. What has drawn me to the place (over and over and over) is the food, the service, the service and the food.
The chef, Chris Bennett, shops meticulously for the finest in produce (and meats and fish) and then treats his purchases with the utmost care and respect.
What's good on the menu? Everything.
What makes it better than most of its competitors is an ambience that is inviting, a super-attentitive waitftaff, and acoustics that let you hear every single word spoken at your table. The most often-used word? "Delicious."
