After some chichat, charcuterie seems to be the favored candidate. A quick google search will lead you to several "Best of" lists but, to get you started, here's a link to Houstonia Magazine's:
Revival Market (and therefore their sister restaurant, Coltivare) is on every list I've seen, so plans are underway to arrange a get-together there sometime during October.
As of now, Saturday, Oct 17 is emerging as a likely date. Coltivare is only open for dinner, but we could make it as early as possible in order not to tie up everyone's entire Saturday night. We could even order the charcuterie as an appetizer, and if people are not interested in staying for an entire meal, they could head elsewhere afterwards.
Those of you for whom I have email addresses have already received a "Whatdayathink?" letter, but it would be great if we could find more folks interested in joining us on our monthly culinary fact-finding expeditions. If that's you, please post here, and we'll figure out a way to get in touch.
