Dorot Basil and Garlic from Trader Joe's

It is pretty rare that I find a product that is so great that I'm always going to have it on hand, but I found it at Trader Joe's.

Unless I'm making pesto, I always end up using a little basil and the rest ends up wilting. I always end up throwing it out. So, I saw this little red box in the freezer section of Trader Joe's. The name is Dorot and it is little cubes of frozen basil that you just push out and use as you need. I tried it and it was wonderful. I can't remember the price but it was cheap...maybe $2.

Next time at TJ's I see the Dorot chopped garlic. Same thing, little cubes in a red box that you keep in your freezer.

Tonight I made pasta with shrimp sauteed in the Dorot garlic, basil and olive oil. It was excellent and required no chopping.
