Döner Kebab & Peruvian Chicken in Hicksville

MrPhil | Apr 26, 2015 07:33 AM

I park at the Hicksville LIRR station, and have been walking past this place while it's been under construction. It opened a few weeks ago at most.

I tried it on Friday. The menu is small, Döner Kebab & Peruvian Chicken are the primary menu items. I had the Döner Kebab, it was fantastic! It came on what I think is a Turkish style bread. The bread is kind of like a focaccia rather than a pita. It was warm and light. The meat was lamb, juicy and succulent, a far cry from the standard cone style gyros I’m used to. Came with standard salad style items on it (you tell them what you want) plus a white and a green sauce, both were delicious (it looked like they were making the green sauce while I was there)

Place was spotless! People running it were extremely friendly. Prices were very reasonable. It’s small, so seems more conductive for takeout. But after that Doner, not sure I could wait till I got home to eat it! I still have to try the chicken. It’s located in small strip mail right next to station (with a Papa Johns)
