Donato Enoteca, RWC report

hhc | Jan 29, 201111:28 PM

Went to Donato Enoteca for Italian food. It's across from the Redwood City Public Library, parking lot next to the library - FREE after 6pm. Valet parking available too.

Got there late around 8pm. Didn't have reservations - best to make them here because it's popular. Service can be slow when busy.

Still or Sparkling. Still is just tap water in the glass bottle. Sparkling - they charge you $5.50.

FREE bread w/ green dipping sauce. Ask for refills if you want more.

We got:

Bigoli e Coda $15 - pasta w/ some tiny bits of oxtail. Just ok.

Side of brussel sprouts $4 - just ok

Calamaretti e faglidi $9 - grilled calamari appetizer. Fine.

Soft polenta a side dish $4 - fine.

Spaghetti neri $15 - nice pasta w/ black squid ink. I liked it ok.

Gls Vermentino Canayli $9 - glass of white wine. B. liked it.

Sparkling water $5.50

$61.50 + $5.69 tax = $67.19 before tip.

They have a Weekly Prix Fixe Meal - 3 course for $32 (appetizer, main, dessert). That seems like a good deal.

Little Italian candy by the host desk - grab some on the way out.

Separate bathrooms in the back by the bar on the Right. Women's just single toilet/sink.
