Dommy: Breakfast Pit Stop On The 60 To Coachella

Chino Wayne | Apr 27, 200606:12 PM

Frisco's Fifties Diner, on Gayle avenue in City of Industry. Exit the eastbound 60 at Azuza, turn let on to Azuza, drive over the freeway and then turn right on Gayle, proceed down Gayle about a half mile (Frisco's is opposite Claim Jumper.

By far the best tasting, best value breakfast on your route.

I love their special omlete, fills the plate with a three egg omlete with all kinds of good stuff in it, topped with some ripe avocado and excellent hash browns. Their pancakes rival the legendary Du-Par's buttermilk cakes. Nothing lack a short or tall stack of cakes with that big dollop of butter melting on top. I usually let the butter just sit and melt right where it landed, it creates a buttery depression in the stack and I save that part for last, getting about two or three great bites of oh so rich, buttery, buttermilk pancake goodness.

Coffee is good, or if you want, you can get a chocolate coke with unlimited refils. Your meal will be delivered to your table by a waitress on roller skates.

Get there early, I think they stop serving breakfast by Noon.
