Now in it's second week, Dominique Ansel's Kitchen is serving equal parts savory and sweet, some made-to-order and others ready from the case. it's a very different menu from the bakery that made him a household name.
a first visit left a tremendous impression. great value, super fresh ingredients, and a lot of interesting options. really difficult to narrow our choices to two + dessert. the croque monsieur is enormous, loaded with ham and cheese, but it's the bread that sets it apart from others. the edamame avocado and ricotta brioche was something else entirely. so light, so fresh, so perfect for an early summer lunch outside.
Kitchen is so much of what i've been looking for - a light, fast, inexpensive option that differs from my weekday lunch options. i can see this becoming a part of my regular rotation quite quickly.
