Dok Bua Tom-Yum soup--what are the...

round things in it? We got take-out from there last night, and I had tom-yum noodle soup with beef, and in addition to the recognizable pieces of beef there were three round balls, each with a small wedge cut out of it, that were grayish in color and quite rubbery, and looked kind of like pieces of hot dog when pulled apart. Does anyone know what these are? This was my first meal from this restaurant and I chose my dish from the online menu, so I don't have any other clues... I'm just curious, b/c I have never seen anything like this before (granted, my recent Thai food experiences are pretty much limited to House of Siam...). Thanks in advance for any info!
