Went to the excellent Cubs vs. Sox game Sunday 22 June. Excellent weather, decent game - not enough hitting, but good pitching (Cubs won the game, Sox won the series).
Joan had said "Find the place with the red and white awning, and order a polish or a hot dog, preferably both. The dogs are Hebrew Union I believe with natural casings, and both are served with a huge mess of delicious grilled onions. "
I didn't find it. I did see places with Hebrew National under solid red awnings. Anyway, I went to Diamond Dogs "Wrigley's only place for a dog with the works!!" and got an excellent polish (slightly char grilled, lots of grilled onions) and a Bud. I am not normally a Bud fan, but with the Polish, it went well. Excellent flavor and snap. A casing for sure, not sure if it was natural, but it definitely wasn't nude. The brand of sausage was something from Chicago that begins with an E... At the gang ketchup/mustard/onion stand I found the Guldens, and dumped a bunch on.
Heaven! And there were enough ladies washrooms, and they were reasonably clean.
There were people selling pre-wrapped up Hebrew National dogs in the stands with the slogan "get your dogs here, those dogs inside are too fresh!"
I did not see the rumored sushi and espresso stands inside the park, there is a Starbucks midway down the block across Addison from the park. They did sell strawberry and lemon smoothies in the stands, chocolate malt somethings and cotton candy in a plastic cup (what's THAT about??)
